Some can participate in deferred compensation. An interesting loophole I've seen involves a health savings account that's taken out pre-tax, accumulates interest, and if unused by 65, can be withdrawn completely tax free.
The gifting and donations area is accurate. I just never thought of buying items and hoping they get appraised for a greater value, then donating them.
