via the NYTimes, we have this - the NTSB asking states to basically ban *all* cellphone use while driving.
A federal agency on Tuesday called for a ban on all cellphone use by drivers — the most far-reaching such recommendation to date — saying its decision was based on a decade of investigations into distraction-related accidents, as well as growing concerns that powerful mobile devices are giving drivers even more reasons to look away from the road.
I'm all for being against Big Brother regulation, but I've been almost killed way too many times by idiots on fones in cars (and once, an idiot on a fone on a motorcycle. really). I know, I know, slipperly slope, freedoms, jack-booted thugs, etc., but if I went down that road, I'd probably be curled up in a foetal position in front of my buddha shrine too afraid to move...
