Bangalore Eats - Caperberry

A nifty Italian/Spanish/Tapas place near Manipal center in Bangalore.  Its quite expensive (by Bangalore standards), but if you are thinking in Dollar terms, its pretty lite on the wallet.  The food is, in a word, interesting (And I mean that in many senses of the word).  Some of it works really well, and some of it is, well, weird.
They've got some molecular gastronomy pretensions (liquid nitrogen mousse!), a touch of Bobby Flay (deconstructed everything), and some wackiness (a Paella which is risotto dumped in a mini-paella dish and baked a bit).  That said, it (mostly) surprisingly works - the Potato/wasabi/seaweed soup turned out to be a potato/caramelized-onion soup w/ a dash of wasabi thrown in, but was still pretty damn good, the aforementioned 'paella' tasted like an unrolled arancino (i.e., good), and the Tirami-Sushi (a kinda weird deconstructed Tiramisu that looked like a sushi roll, tasted like a souffle, and had nothing to do with Tiramisu) was yummy.
As always, the wine-list bordered on the remarkably bad - take my advice and stick to either the bubbly (Prosecco if they have it), or the Sula Sauvignon Blanc (which they will have).  Everything else will sux0r.
The best part of the place is the ambience - its not too bright, its mellow, the service is pretty good, and they let you just chill there without any pressure.
Would I go there again?
Probably....
